sweetondean's Light on Spoilers Heavy on THANK CHUCK THAT HELLATUS IS OVER Preview of Supernatural 12x09 "First Blood"

First off WELCOME BACK!!! We did it. We got through another hellatus! We are awesome!

Secondly DON'T FORGET THE SHOW IS AT A NEW TIME!

(central)

And Aussies - the show is back Monday, also at a new time!

Everyone sorted? Okay....Let's PREVIEW!

When last we saw our heroes...they were in a spot of bother....

THEN

Team Free Will + Crowley and Rowena managed to expel Lucifer from President Jeff, using a magic egg, whizzing him back to the cage (or possibility back to Washington into another President, as current evidence seems to indicate).

Sam and Dean for some unfathomable reason, hung out long enough to get captured by the secret service and popped into chains - and not in a good way.

Cas, charged with keeping an eye on the Pres' ex-girl and her nephilim baby, lets them slip through his fingers.

So...Crowley and Rowena have splint, the nephilim is on the loose in its mum's tum, and Sam and Dean are in high security lock up. Geeze! Must be Supernatural!

NOW

THE BOYS HAVE BEEN SEPARATED IN PRISON (FOR 6 WEEKS)!

I CAN'T STANDS IT! The boys apart lie that! The thought of it hurts too much!

Okay, let's look at the synopsis (though a waterfall of tears)!

“First Blood” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)

THE HUNTERS BECOME THE HUNTED – After being arrested for the attempted assassination of the President of The United States, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must find a way out of an underground, government-run, detention facility in the middle of nowhere. Determined to find her sons, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Castiel (Misha Collins) seek assistance from an unlikely source. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1209). Original airdate 1/26/2017.

It's a show runner double! Director Bob Singer and Writer Andew Dabb!

Here is a little bit more about where we come back to from Andrew Dabb via TV|Line

We’re going to be building in about a six-week time jump...We’ll see how Sam and Dean act in that period of isolation, but also how the rest of the world reacts, as well — specifically Cas and Mary and some other players.

The people that have them (the government, not the British of Men of Letters) think they’re real, legitimate criminals, albeit kind of terrorists more than your common thief or anything like that. Sam and Dean [are] facing something where it’s not like they can do what they normally do.

A-wahhhhhhhh!

Let's look at the promos - the short version and the extended version.

That shot of Dean scratching the days out on the wall is way devastating. The thought of the brothers being locked up is bad enough, but the thought of them being locked up and apart, not knowing how they're going to get out of there, not know where their brother is, if he's okay, if they're ever going to see each other again, is so damn heartbreaking I can't quite breathe when I think about it!

Cas teaming with Mary looks great, I love the idea of that, and that they also team up with/enlisted the help of Mick and Mr Ketch to get the boys free - which will be interesting. This back end of the season, with Lucifer once again under lock and key, we're going to see more of the British Men of Letters and how their relationship with the brothers plays out. It looks like it might all start here....

Here's the sneak peek!

Part of me wants to say to this guy - buddy, you don't know the Winchesters, you talk about solitude and torture, these boys have both been to Hell, they've know torture like you couldn't even think of, they've know the kind of solitude and isolation that stretches for eternity, if they did break, you'd probably be long gone....part of me wants to say that, but most of me wants to say...

Ugh, just seeing them defiantly listening but not looking - you know their hearts would be pounding in their chest at his words. I remember way back to Jus In Bello when Henriksen told Dean to take a good look at his brother because he was never going to see him again, as he threatened the boys with Super Max Prison....the little shot of panic that went through Sam in that scene...man. Even back then I was deeply disturbed by that idea. Now...so many years later, knowing what they've sacrificed, what they've been through for each other, what they are to each other....

Of course, we know they get out, and it will be seriously satisfying when it happens! I hope they can expunge any evidence that they were ever in trouble, because I really don't want them to be on the run for the rest of their lives...again.

Now...the show has released another teaser video via Shaving People, Punting Things, which looks at the 2nd half of the season - well, the episodes they've shot at least!

Here it is, it goes past tonight's episode so be warned, but it's pretty damn good.

Episode 12x11 is the episode where Dean's memory is affected - I think that's the grab where we can hear him reciting who he is, his brother is, his mother is, and his friend is. It sounds horribly painful, Dean losing who he is. I will be in Vegas when that episode plays and I'm so looking forward to seeing it, knowing I will see Jensen a couple of days later! He's spoken about how much he enjoyed playing the episode and it was something quite different for Dean. Eeeee! The whole trailer is a really freakin' good teaser, with some highly disturbing things going on!

Sooooo we're back! That was the last big hiatus of the season (there's bound to be a week or two break somewhere though), and it's all fun and probably a lot of pain from here on end!

Plus this is episode 250! The Js may have blown right through it and on to 251, but 250 is a hell of an achievement. Amazing, amazing achievement! So let's all tune in and give the cast and crew maximum support for this People's Choice winning, damn awesome show!

Wooooohooooo!

SUPERNATURAL IS BACK!!!

  1. Wondering why Dean didn't pray to Castiel to save them instead of calling to Billie. That was bugging me through the whole episode.
